about 1887

Three-light window with standing figure of John the Baptist holding a cross a lamb (the Agnus Dei), and pointing towards it with the other hand. The scenes at the sides show John preaching to a crowd, and John baptising Christ in the Jordan.

size: 51 cm (width of each light)
designer: probably Charles Hean

Church of St John, Porthmadog, Gwynedd
south wall of the south aisle (window number: sIII)

Given in memory of John Thomas (1823–87). The design of the window is suggestive of the work of Charles Hean, who designed and/or made other windows in nearby churches at Cricieth and Boduan.
