Basil Edward Errington Barber worked as chief cartoonist for Ninian Comper, and subsequently assisted Arnold Robinson at his firm Joseph Bell & Son from 1953, running the studio until Arnold's son Geoffrey Robinson was able to take over in 1959. Following a period in Australia, Barber retuned to England in the 1970s, and again assisted the studio in Bristol as a glass painter (information kindly provided by Geoffrey Robinson).
